Community Progress Update: Funding Wins and Future Plans for Tuebrook
While most of our regular updates focus on our daily council work, we wanted to take a moment to share some incredibly positive news regarding additional funding we’ve secured for both the Tuebrook Hope Centre and Christ Church.
Real community progress isn’t built on divisive slogans; it is the result of dedicated hard work, clear vision, continuous fundraising, and strong community partnerships. We are proud to show how those values are paying off for Tuebrook.
🏛️ Our Journey So Far: A Quick Context
Transforming these historic facilities into vibrant spaces for everyone has been a long-term labor of love:
2003/2004: The Tuebrook Hope Group began renovating the dilapidated former Church hall, transforming it into the thriving community centre it is today.
2023–2024: The Tuebrook Hope Group entered into a dynamic partnership agreement with Christ Church to renovate the Chapel. At a cost of approximately £95,000, we successfully created a multi-purpose hall, training facility, mezzanine, and open-use office space.
🎉 Our Latest Funding Successes
This month, we are thrilled to announce several new grants that will allow us to maintain our buildings and expand our community outreach:
£2,900 from the Benefact Foundation: Secured to part-fund the vital replacement of our fire exit door and frame, keeping our visitors safe.
£4,925 from The National Lottery: Awarded to the Tuebrook Hope Group to help cover our core running costs. This funding will also support 4 forthcoming community coach trips, our ongoing outreach work with sheltered housing, and our program hosting local school students during their work experience placements.
£100 Community Donation: Thanks to funds from B H Bilton, we were able to donate £100 to the Buckingham Road neighbors' community gardens to support their beautiful green spaces.
